The Project
In this project our team was tasked with researching a genetic disease and what protein synthesis is as well as somehow demonstrate that in a medium of our choosing, in this case a game about Alzheimer's.
The Game
Content
Nucleus- the center of all living cells houses DNA.
DNA- (deoxyribonucleic acid) it is the carrier of genetic information.
transcription-the process by witch MRNA attaches to the DNA and makes a copy of it.
RNA polymerase- a enzyme that splits DNA allowing MRNA to bind and make a copy of the DNA.
MRNA- a messenger DNA that copies the DNA code.
Codon- a chain of three nucleotides that make up the genetic code.
translation- the process by witch mRNA is decoded to make the specific sequence of amino acids in a polypeptide chain.
TRNA- an RNA molecule that transfers amino acids so they can form a chain.
Ribosome- the part of the cell where translation takes place by linking amino acids together.
Amino acids- the basic building blocks of protein.
Polypeptide chain- a chain of amino acids that is held together by amide bonds.
Folding- the process by witch a polypeptide chain starts to take a functional shape forming protein.
Protein- the most diverse of all macromolecules serves many different functions.

Reflection
In this project we had the same groups as the homeostasis project, and I was once again happy to work with this team, and was one of the best parts of the project. One of the things I did not enjoy about this project was the forced integration of a gantt chart, the purpose was lost on a smaller project and the time spent on it could have been better allocated. another part of this project that I did not enjoy was the times spent making the game, only one member of the group knew how to code with scratch and left us waiting for something to do eventually speedrunning the game. Our games did come out good despite limited input from the whole team and in our presentation the whole class got to play our game and we got some very positive feedback on our work.
